We will enjoy great quality mountain roads and the wide-open lanes of the autobahn, visiting famous landmarks en route. The Eagle’s Nest, or Kehlsteinhaus as it’s known in German, the building used for Nazi meetings, atop the Kehlstein Mountain in the Berchtesgaden Alps. We will also stop at Neuschwanstein Castle, one of the most popular palaces in Europe due to its unspoiled setting and Romanesque style.

Pass by the famous and popular lake Prien am Chiemsee, east of Rosenheim.Visit the beautiful Austrian city Salzburg and its Old Town, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Loop around the Grossglockner, the highest peak in Austria, and of course, no tour of Germany would be complete without a taste of schnitzel, bratwurst, and world-famous German beer. Prost! Answers to Your Questions
What bikes are available to rent for this tour?

A variety of European adventure-touring motorcycles, including BMW, KTM, and Ducati (800–1090cc engines). There are several other classic touring bikes available including Harley Davidson Road Glide and Honda Goldwings. There will be a moderate upcharge for bikes larger than 1200cc or equivalents (details available at time of booking).

Do you provide insurance?

Motorcycle rental companies in Germany provide some basic, limited insurance, but there are optional insurances, such as collision damage insurance, to purchase as well.

Do we need to book our accommodations?

No, we will do that for you. If you would like a list of the places where we will be staying, please contact us.

How long is the ride time per day?

We typically ride for 6 hours a day, depending on the sightseeing and breaks along the way.

What is the cancellation policy on this tour?

To reserve your spot on a tour, we require a 20% deposit at the time of booking. The tour balance must be paid in full at least 45 days prior to departure.

  • If you cancel more than 60 days before departure, the deposit will be refunded in full.
  • If you cancel 45-60 days before departure, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
  • If you cancel within 44 days of departure, you forfeit the entire deposit and any funds we cannot recuperate from vendors.
What do we need for international travel?

Each rider will need to have a valid passport to travel internationally. Each rider must also have a license from their home country with a motorcycle endorsement. International drivers’ licenses are helpful (and encouraged) but typically not mandatory to ride in other countries. We will provide the details for riders in one-on-one prep sessions before all trips.

How much luggage can I take with me?

Regular luggage is acceptable for these trips as we will load our bikes up with our belongings at the motorcycle rental shops when we pick up our bikes. Suitcases and bags will be stored and safeguarded under lock and key while we tour. We will repack our luggage for the trip home when we return from our tour.

What else should I consider when riding in Germany and the Alps?

The Autobahn in Germany can be dangerous for riders who are not used to traveling at higher speeds (over 100mph). Often the cars are driving at much higher speeds and this can present a danger to a group of motorcycle riders. Your guide will brief you on safety precautions. There are some unique road traffic signs including right-of-way procedures, that you will need to be familiar with when driving on the European roads. Your guide will introduce you to these.
